The best places to Eat, drink (and be merry) in Stillorgan

So, you’re a Stillorgan local now; welcome to the neighbourhood! Not only are you strategically placed close to the sea, the city and neighbouring ‘burbs bustling with life, but you’re also surrounded by delicious spots to eat, drink and whittle away many, many hours of fun too.

All in the name of selfless (promise) research, we’ve been digging and found the best that Stillorgan has to offer food, coffee and drinks-wise; now we’re sharing these gems with you.

Have a read, try them out, and of course, welcome to the neighbourhood!

  1. Riba, 4 Lower Kilmacud Rd, Stillorgan, Co. Dublin, Ireland

If Irish produce with a distinctively Italian flair sounds right up your street, then head to Riba and say Ciao to some of the biggest, freshest and most delicious flavours around.

Think moreish pasta hand-rolled and drenched in delicious sausage ragu, Nduja-flavoured Mussles, dry-aged Irish beef, and the freshest of fish, all served with thirst-quenching spritzes or delicious Italian wine.

With nods of approval from the likes of Lucinda O’Sullivan, head to Riba and soak up the atmosphere in their main dining room or take lunch al-fresco on the heated outdoor terrace!

  1. Hemmingways Restaurant, Kilmacud

If the best in surf and turf tickles your tastebuds, then Hemmingways NEEDS to be on your must-eat list!

Think the freshest of fish, scrumptious scallops, seasonal produce, and fresh, zingy flavours worth the visit alone.

Choosing just a few of my favourites is tough, but personal highlights include the Garlic & Chilli Gambas (maybe not first date suitable), The Galway Bay mussels and the downright juicy Lamb Shank- delicious!

  1. Bear Market Coffee Roasters, The Olde Church, Lower Kilmacud Rd, Stillorgan

Ever wondered what true coffee artistry and a bean-to-cup process actually look like? Wonder no more because Bear has been rip-roaring their way through the Dublin coffee market to great success recently, and with a decade in business, they certainly know their stuff!

Hailed by many as the best cup of coffee in Dublin (it’s giving Buddy the Elf, anyone else?), Bear has raised the bar when it comes to the coffee game.

The Stillorgan outpost is one of seven Dublin locations, and if you’re yet to swing by, you can expect scenic surroundings (in a 150-year-old church, nonetheless), delicious roasted coffee blends, and pours to put even the more particular coffee drinkers in a good mood. Oh, and try their almond croissants, then thank me later!

  1. Stillorgan Orchard, 1 The Hill, Stillorgan

If delicious food and drink with a side of history sounds intriguing to you, we suggest hand-picking Stillorgan Orchard for your next outing!

Rocking an Insta-perfect thatched roof, a gorgeous gastropub twist on traditional Irish dishes, and of course, perfectly shaken cocktails, creamy pints and handpicked wines, you’ve got everything you need under one (quaint) roof.

A seasonally-revolving menu keeps things fresh, while some staples remain front and centre all year round (repeat after me- homemade Guinness bread). On the weekends, start your day with a hearty breakfast, or move a little slower with a late lunch, then stay around for live music or sports showings- believe me, you won’t want to leave!

Ah, date night. This is likely one of three scenarios. You’re either in a stable relationship and need an excuse to dress up and get out of your house O’Neills (we see you, we understand you). On the opposite end of the spectrum, it’s a first date. Maybe you’ve met on the apps or maybe
