5 of the best foodie spots to check out in Rathmines

You’re officially a Rathmines resident now, and life is good. You may not know it yet, but you’re currently situated in one of Dublin’s (no, not just Dublin 6, Dublin-wide) hottest foodie spots. With new restaurants brewing, cooking and popping up weekly, the hot list is constantly growing, which is a great problem to have, in our opinion!

That said, here are our tried, tested (and often, tried again) foodie favourites in Rathmines. Save these down, grab your comfy pants, and start eating!

  1. Delve into Dublin’s newest (most delicious) deli at Deli613

Say Shalom to one of the newest and (we’re starting big here) most delicious offerings on the list at Deli613, a kosher deli offering the freshest twists on age-old classic Jewish offerings.

Think thick-cut salt beef sandwiches slathered in mustard and pickles, heals-all homemade chicken soup, moreish Potatoe Latkes, hummus, salads…the list goes on! In addition to this, they offer kosher groceries, made-to-order Challah, sourdough and more.

Deli613 is Dublin’s first Kosher eatery to open in over 50 years, so swing by, try some delicious food and show them your neighbourly support. Mazel Tov!

  1. Take your tribe for breakfast at Tribe Coffee!

Nothing sets you up for a great weekend quite like a strong coffee and a side of delicious brunch.

Tribe packs both a visual and flavour punch, serving up fresh Açaí bowls, loaded avo toasts, bulging toasties and sweet treats, all washed down with a seriously good coffee or two.

Try their Açaí bowl or avo toast with honey mustard dressing; trust us, you’ll be sorted until dinner!

  1. Keep it casual at Kodiak Bar

If high ceilings, industrial vibes, open tables, a sun-trap beer garden and cosy nooks sound like your vibe, you must check out Kodiak Bar.

After less than a year in business, Kodiak has already made quite the impression on Rathmines and beyond, serving up great pints, craft beers, creative cocktails and freshly baked pizza to soak up every delicious drop of drink you may be inclined to order.

A great spot to gather a group and whittle away hours, we guarantee that Kodiak will become a regular haunt for you too.

  1. Need a caffeine pick-me-up? Try Nobó (Treathouse)

Whether you’re a vegan, a chocolate lover, or just curious about how No Bó (that’s a cow, for all of you who may have forgotten your secondary school Irish) can produce such excellent dairy treats without the dairy, then we suggest a visit to their treathouse.

This is their flagship store and a new home in the heart of Dublin. Step into this plant-based haven and explore The Chocolate Lab (a home for innovation and creation), retail store and cafe.

There’s lots to discover here, including their plant-based treats; Ice-cream cookie sandwiches, ‘mylk shakes’, superfood smoothies, handmade single-origin truffles, nut butter, granola and freshly made cakes and bakes. Oh, and of course, we recommend trying a locally roasted, single-origin coffee with a splash of dairy-free milk!

Consider this a golden ticket to the chocolate factory of eco-dreams, and swing by; they’re open seven days a week!

  1. Discover pasta like (imaginary) Nonna would be proud of at Sprezzatura

We thought we knew good pasta, but Sprezzatura sprung onto the scene and shook things up in true, passionate Italian style!

Sprezzatura is unique in its approach to cooking. They comb Ireland for the best ingredients possible; then, they expertly combine Italian ideas with their perfect produce to create the freshest and tastiest pasta dishes in Dublin.

From juicy olives to tangy cheeses, freshly rolled pasta, passionately-simmered ragus, and more, this is true comfort food cooked with love and soul.

Our personal go-tos include the Squid Ink Spaghetti, the Gnocchi with Nduja, Tomato & Toonsbridge Ricotta and the Pappardelle with fennel & chilli sausages Ragú- believe us when we say it’s even better than you can imagine!
