New to the Goldenbridge area? We may be slightly biased, but we think it’s one of the best-located neighbourhoods near the city centre. Sandwiched comfortably between Drimnagh, Inchicore, Rialto and Kilmainham, you’re a mere hop, skip, or a Luas spin away from everything you could ever truly need.
As inflation, well, inflates, we assume that, like us, you’re keen to check out some less expensive ways to spend an evening or weekend, so don’t fear; we’ve got your budgeting back!

Whether you’re already a climbing wall enthusiast, or you’re keen to get fit and maybe tackle your fear of heights, defy all sense of gravity at the Gravity Climbing Cente in Inchicore.
Step inside, and you’ll find hundreds of boulder options designed to suit everyone from a complete beginner to the climber worthy of Kilimanjaro! The Gravity Climbing team sets new tasks and challenges on the boulders weekly to keep you well and truly on your toes (and in the air)!
If your fitness and strength needs work, they have a conditioning area for just that, plus all the necessary equipment and a strong cup of coffee to get you pumped too!

A mere 14-minute walk (we’ve timed it) from Goldenbridge Luas stop, you’ll find the cold, thick walls that house some of Ireland’s darkest yet most important history. This very history helped shape the country we know, live in and love today.
Opened in 1796, Kilmainham has undergone civil war, the struggles for Irish independence, The 1916 Easter rising and much much more. Housing important political figures, including Charles Stewart Parnell, Countess Markievicz and the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising, as well as thousands of ordinary people often incarcerated for petty crimes, if Kilmainham’s walls could talk, we have no doubt that the tales would be chilling, to put it mildly.
Access to Kilmainham Gaol is available by guided tour only, so booking is required, and tickets start from just €8 (or €4 for students), and it’s an important, fascinating way to spend a few hours.

Since you’re in the general Kilmainham area already (see point 2), what better time or place to indulge your inner art enthusiast than in the ever-changing, beautiful IMMA?
A fascinating, evolving collection of contemporary life and modern art, IMMA will challenge, excite and leave you pondering the art you’ve seen for hours on end, and all for good reason too!
If art really is your thing, IMMA is home to over 3,500 artworks by Irish and International artists. The Collection is firmly rooted in the present, and important contemporary works are added constantly, so you’re always in for a treat.
Surprisingly, it’s not ALL designed for art buffs. IMMA is perfectly placed on 48 acres of land in the historic heart of Dublin 8. After you’ve whittled out a few hours browsing the gallery, amble through the grounds, soak up the sun in formal gardens, take in some live events, pop by the gift shop for a keepsake, or pop in for a coffee in the courtyard and indulge in everyone’s favourite sport, some people-watching!
